What You Will Learn

Automation has been developing in the industrial sector for a long time, so much so that it has becoming both almost commonplace and a necessity for efficient competitive manufacturing and warehousing operations. Automation and robotics is relatively new however in the commercial public and consumer spaces. In this talk Black will explain how Brain Corp's unique approach to partnerships and creation of BrainOS, a commercial grade operating system for mobile collaborative robots is bridging this gap. Leveraging a commercial software platform solution to bridge the gap between industrial and commercial applications will enable new markets for traditional automation suppliers, and bring new value to commercial customers and consumers. In addition, the fundamental differences between traditional industrial and collaborative automation in controlled environments will be reviewed and contrasted with modern commercial AMRs operating in uncontrolled public environments.

Key Takeaways

- Understanding the differences between traditional industrial automation, industrial collaborative robotics, and commercial "open to the public" collaborative robotics.
- Appreciation for the opportunities a commercial grade software platform solution provides to bridge the gap between industrial and commercial applications.
