The company operates 729 DICK'S Sporting Goods locations across the United States as well as a growing e-commerce presence. Using five distribution centers, DICK’S leverages a combination of software, hardware, people and processes to achieve best-in-class service for its network of stores and direct-to-consumer fulfillment. Most recently, DICK’s Sporting Goods expanded its distribution facility in Conklin, NY. With the expansion, the facility not only services 160 retail stores but also offers same-day shipping of many products for direct-to-consumer order fulfillment. To achieve true omni-channel status, the Conklin, NY, distribution center leverages a goods-to-person system, warehouse execution software and unique inbound and outbound processes to efficiently handle inventory. To discuss the successful implementation, Dick’s Sporting Goods’ Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, George Giacobbe will join system integrator, Bastian Solutions, to detail how DICK’S Sporting Goods transitioned a store-only fulfillment center into an omni-channel powerhouse.
