Summary of Innovation

Smart Scan technology by codeREADr enables enterprises to now scan 100 specifically targeted barcodes in less than 20-seconds, using just the cameras of iOS and Android OS devices. This means that users do not always need dedicated scanning devices, which can sometimes be expensive or impractical to deploy. Also, the technology can record and validate scans with or without an Internet connection, and collect associated data with each scan (photos, signatures, GPS, etc.).

Today, fast and accurate automatic data collection (ADC) with edge computing is critical for supply-chain logistics. Our Smart Scan innovation is important because it solves some common problems in the industry. For instance, RFID is very expensive to deploy at the edge throughout the supply chain. Secondly, though deploying barcodes is cheaper, scanning barcodes one by one can be very time-consuming. Thus, it can be challenging to scan a large number of serial numbers effectively for track and trace requirements. Our Smart Scan easily solves cost concerns, logistics needs, and time inefficiency by offering smart scanning as a data collection solution.

Innovation Statement

Smart Scan utilizes cloud configured augmented reality (AR) and advanced decoding to quickly capture many targeted barcodes within a single camera view. Easily configure ADC workflows in less than 15 minutes in the cloud and instantly scale globally at a fraction of the cost of customizing WMS and/or ERP systems.

Applicability

Manufacturing and supply chain teams can capture massive amounts of data accurately and quickly with smartphones and dedicated scanning devices, regardless of how unique their use case.
