RDS™ Batch Bot

Numina Group Inc. (booth # 7006)

Summary of Innovation

RDS™ Batch Bot is a new software automation module that manages Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) activities within Numina Group’s Real-time Distribution Software (RDS™) warehouse execution and control software (WES-WCS) platform. The new software module uses voice to integrate workers with an autonomous batch order pick cart AMR that intelligently transports mobile carts throughout the pick and pack area. Included with the application is order release management, cartonization, put to light order consolidation, labor tracking, and operation throughput performance metrics reporting.
RDS™ Batch Bot increases the order fulfillment productivity of order picking and transport of completed orders to packing or items from multiple zones to an order consolidation put to light wall. The solution uses pick by voice commands to direct operator movements within a cluster of pick zones unified with the Waypoint Vector autonomous mobile robot movement. By coordinating both the picker and the AMR cart moves simultaneously, the system eliminates wasted operator walk time and fatigue caused by manually pushing carts with up to 600 lb. loads throughout the distribution center. Batch Bot automatically picks up and moves the carts to each shelf or rack pick location, and at pick completion transports the carts to packing. RDS™ Batch Bot provides higher order fulfillment efficiency, reducing labor by 40% or more compared to a manual cart picking process.

Innovation Statement

RDS™ Batch Bot autonomous batch order pick carts enable operators to pick heavy orders and/or a large number of orders using the latest generation AMRs with Real time Distribution voice picking technology. Combining both technologies provides a more efficient pick, pack, and ship operation while reducing the physical requirements to the operator of transporting heavy loads manually.

Applicability

RDS™ Batch Bot automates batch cart moves and drops to increase AMR utilization time which lowers the fleet size while eliminating non-valued operator manual work tasks and fatigue.
