Summary of Innovation

The MiR1000 from the Danish company Mobile Industrial Robots is a flexible, user-friendly and cost-efficient robot, that can be used in various applications. The MiR1000 is a collaborative and autonomous mobile robot that is designed to automate and optimize the transportation of heavy loads and pallets across industries. With a payload of 1000 kg, and a footprint of 1350x920 mm (equaling a EUR-pallet), MIR1000 is a large, powerful and robust mobile robot. The collaborative MiR1000 safely maneuvers around people and physical obstacles. With advanced technology and sophisticated software, the robot autonomously navigates to find the most efficient path to its destination. When it meets obstacles, it will automatically re-route to avoid costly downtime in the logistics processes. MiR1000 is equipped the latest SICK laser-scanning technology, which is two pieces of SICK microScan 3. FoV for a 360-degree visual for optimal safety, while two 3D cameras in front supply a range of 30-2,000 mm above floor level to detect feet and pallets from the front, while six proximity sensors do the same in each corner of the robot.
With MiR1000 Pallet Lifts for either EUR-pallets or U.S. pallets, the MiR1000 picks up, transports, and deliver pallets, freeing up employees for more valuable tasks. There is no need to change the facility layout when operating the MiR1000 as the function of wires, magnets or QR codes of more traditional transportation systems is replaced by sophisticated navigation software. The customer can either download CAD files of the facility to the robot or use its laser scanners to create a map, which is all it takes to ensure a fast and cost-efficient implementation.
MiR1000 is compliant with IS/EN 13849 and fulfills the EMC requirement for industrial and light industrial use. The robot is designed for industry use with a robust exterior that can withstand dropped cargo, collisions, and can easily navigate up and down ramps and even through shallow water puddles.
The user-friendly MiR1000 is controlled via the intuitive MiR Robot Interface via smartphone, tablet or PC, and can be programmed without prior programming experience. The robot interface has a full-featured REST-API, so the robot can be integrated into ERP/WMS systems for a fully automated solution. With the ability to quickly and easily integrate different top modules, the MiR1000 can be equipped with pallet forks, conveyors, a robot arm, shelf lifts, or other options to support a wide range of applications.

Innovation Statement

In comparison to other autonomous mobile robots the MIR1000 combines different important aspects that make the robot unique: Completely collaborative for safe cooperation between man and robot, user-friendly and easy to program, equipped with open source system for absolute flexibility, flexible deployment at various points in the production and warehouse processes and a fast ROI.

Applicability

Mobile Industrial Robots and the MiR1000 are able to support a lot of different manufacturing and logistics processes. The sustained competitive advantage of the mobile robot is the combination of its various technical advantages (please see Innovation Statement), the fast ROI, short delivery times as well as the good local customer service and sales structure.Thus, the MiR1000 enables all types of companies to automate their production processes in order to remain competitive. Especially these companies haven’t had this chance so far because there was a lack of flexible, user-friendly and efficient mobile robots that have a quick ROI.
