What You Will Learn

Labor, Labor, Labor! Don't be pressured into buying new automated technologies without knowing how to incorporate them into your hourly order releases. There is an increasing epidemic of organizations implementing new automated technologies that are not able to achieve production goals. n many cases, new technologies are causing artificial constraints that didn't exist in the manual labor world. In this seminar, we'll investigate such technologies as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Automated Put Walls, and High-Speed Loop Sortation, and we'll discuss the restraints they can create when not managed by a Warehouse Execution System (WES). A WES can automatically deliver volume that matches the resource available without the need for a Warehouse Management System (WMS) waveologist. Learn how to achieve production goals by using simple designs managed by a WES.

Key Takeaways

We need to automate the fulfillment center to help offset the deficient labor market. The technology boom that is hitting fulfillment centers has led to some exciting new machines that still rely on the fundamentals of distribution. Lean how to use the WES to automate the fundamentals of receiving, storing, replenishment, picking and packing.
