Summary of Innovation

Perfect Pick, a goods-to-person robotic delivery system, coupled with Sure Sort, the automated put wall, allows items to be stored, picked, sorted and out the door in under 5,000 square feet of warehouse space.

Innovation Statement

With retail customers demanding (and expecting) delivery within hours, the need to locate Last Mile hubs in major metropolitan areas is key. The micro-fulfillment centers will see the greatest potential and justification as e-commerce retail hubs in 2020. Perfect Pick and Sure Sort together offer an extremely efficient, highly automated picking and order processing solution in a small footprint.

Beyond fulfillment, these terminals will need to function as both retail distribution and returns center. Traditional warehouse solutions are just not capable of providing this bi-directional solution in a small foot print, and are unable to provide this dual functionality at the same time. With Perfect Pick, returned orders can be put away at one end of the system while orders are picked simultaneously at the other end and placed on Sure Sort for order consolidation.

Applicability

With warehouse space limited and the increasing demand for same-day delivery, micro-fulfillment centers will be a huge trend in 2020 with automation playing a critical role that can make or break a business.
