This new line of image-based code readers expand upon ifm’s vision of simplifying the next industrial revolution by eliminating the time required for installation and programming.

The versatile multi-code reader identifies and analyzes thousands of codes in a single application, regardless of their position or orientation – even if 25+ percent of the code information becomes damaged or soiled. The system automatically configures and reads single codes or can be easily configured for very complex applications with parallel image captures for multiple code reading conditions with system diagnostics through an award winning configuration software and an internal logic layer graphical interface. The robust evaluation algorithms with internal image and polarization filters ensures reliable identification even under difficult conditions such as changing extraneous light or highly reflective surfaces.

Innovation Statement

Within the O2I5 Multi-code Reader’s compact metal housing, a robust programmable logic layer, supported by a new generation processor, allows for completely configurable I/O, intuitive diagnostic capabilities, and internal processes that can pre-filter and simplify information into useful IIoT data at the individual device level. One button programming, device cloning through removable media, all-in-one compact single housing, and standard rotatable connections are all designed to keep installation and startup times of a new application, or existing device replacement, to a minimum.
